There’s always a little nostalgia tied to a favorite neighborhood restaurant. The kind of place where celebrations happened, familiar faces gathered, and memories were made around the table. That’s part of why the recent closing of Tom Brown’s at Hays Farm felt personal for many in the Huntsville community.
Tom Brown’s brought an elevated dining experience to South Huntsville and became a recognizable part of life at The Market at Hays Farm. We were saddened to hear of the restaurant’s closing and extend our best wishes to Tom and Ashley Brown, their staff, and everyone impacted by the transition.
At the same time, one of the things that makes a growing community special is its ability to evolve. New restaurants and gathering places continue to shape the experience of living, working, and spending time at Hays Farm.
Now Open: Sofia’s Roadside Cantina
One of the newest additions to The Market, Sofia’s Roadside Cantina, already feels right at home.
The family-owned restaurant brings authentic Mexican and Spanish-inspired flavors to South Huntsville, along with a welcoming atmosphere centered around community and connection. Inspired by generations of family recipes, Sofia’s is about more than tacos and margaritas. The restaurant was also created with a mission to foster inclusion and create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
That people-first approach makes Sofia’s a natural fit for Hays Farm — a community designed around gathering spaces, walkability, and bringing people together.
Whether it’s dinner after an evening on the greenway or meeting friends on the patio, Sofia’s adds another great local option to the growing lineup at The Market.
Coming Soon: Culver’s
Another exciting addition is also on the way.
Culver’s is also set to join Hays Farm soon, bringing another casual, family-friendly dining option to The Market. Known for its ButterBurgers and frozen custard, the restaurant has developed a strong following for its simple approach to quality food and welcoming atmosphere.
A Community Designed to Grow Together
What continues to make Hays Farm unique is that it was never intended to be just another development with houses and storefronts. It was designed as a connected community where green space, dining, recreation, and everyday life all come together.
